We are ridding ourselves of a lot of stuff as part of the move from the little farmhouse on PEI. We have a van and a VW golf and that is it.
One ponderously large box still in the keeper pile is the hermetically sealed and archived wedding dress which had its day of use almost 12 years ago. I asked "why"? Response "don't know." If only it had a purpose.
To that end I propose annual come-one-come-all wedding dress parties where the lassies get together, drink beer and eat nachos and chili and never wash the damn things again. They get balled up in a smelly roll only to be dragged out the next year. If in the course of a given year the particular wedding vows concluded, the dress might be burned or specifically abused - perhaps a black magic markered record of the particularly moronic sayings of the recently divorced other could be cited for posterity. Perhaps even on the posterity. By the owners 80's they would each be a bold tapestry of recollections of good moments through the years.
More useful than the never opened box in the attic.

I take donated or pay-as-you-can VW Golfs.
