I just listened to a representative of the Roman Catholic Church and the United Church of Canada debate same sex marraiges on the CBC morning show The Current. It was very nice to hear the gloves come off. The RC rep was particularly jump-all-over-ish.
Best line from the United rep to the RC rep was something like - "I notice the Bible outlaws shellfish and I don't see you protesting in front of Red Lobster." You should be able to hear the segment later today via the site.

It is a good laugh listening to religious types going on and on and on about things they are clueless about. The problem comes after the laughter dies down and you realise how desperatly immature and pathetic these morons are. What amazes me is how they can spew this silliness out and keep a straight face (no pun intended).

I particularly liked the UC (my denomination) rep's correction that she is Rev. <i>Dr.</i> such-and-such.

<chuckle>. Reading this reminded me of the time when I did not have a TV and living in Savage Harbour I would often fall asleep listening to AM radio and (I hope I am recalling the name right), Pastor Perry Rockwell. A real fire and brimstone who would close by saying "send money to Halifax, Canada". He was not subtle.
