The thing which strikes me at first as interesting is what the hell people expect from lawyers. We of the trade are considered useless, parasites, confusers, soakers and the subject of many really awful jokes [I don't mean hurtful, I mean bad, not having anything to do with the subject matter of the job, the jokes that dullards think are jokes because they are mean statements.] Are we also supposed to be some kind of Marvel superheros as well, with some kind of special powers to ignore the fear of compelling threats of death? You all have to get your stories straight on this, I'm afraid. Go away and talk and then come back and explain yourselves.
That all being said, when someone apparently with solid experience quits in a fashion for which he may have to answer to the law society, I tend not to think there is anything happening other than he is scared shitless. Having friends who primarily do criminal defence, who work on murder cases, who work in jails, I know - from my lesser experience next to panic buttons representing dangerous people - that these specialists are not dummies or fraidy-cats. I think Mr. Galati needs to be listened to. Something is wrong.

Just to be 100% clear: I don't think he's scum because he's defending a terrorist. I think he's scum because I think he's showboating and the whole incident looks ... odd ... to me.
