Among the many pleasures high speed brings is proper web radio. One of my favorite listening times is before 7:30 am when I get to hear Halifax Information Morning, surely the best CBC morning show in the country. Don Connelly has both the best voice and the best interviewing skills I ever have heard. They have Stephen Freygood and his reviews of the web just as in the '70's and '80's he provided reviews of sortwave programming - they present a big world to the audience. The partyliners provide non-corporate autonomous input on what is happening locally within the province. Its not just all the nice stuff. The local CBC radio journalists played an active role in exposing the Buchanan Tories in the 80's. When I moved into other areas, I often wondered how it was that Halifax didn't become the model for other areas. I suppose the required creativity and confidence is rare.
